CHILD OF THE SUN: The Expedition of Hernando de Soto

CHILD OF THE SUN aired on National Public Radio in 1994 and 1997 and is a five-part radion dramatization based on the expedition of Spanish conquistador Hernando de Soto across the American South beginning in 1539. Narrated by Eli Wallach and featuring a music score by Donald Stark, the program includes a cast made up of Hispanic American actors and native Americans of the Choctaw and Cherokee tribes, both of whom were encountered by DeSoto in his search for treasure.
